K1300S, model year 2013 seat?

I just traded my 2005 K1200 S in for an ex-demo K1300 S and very nice it is too.

Now, I've ridden quite a few 1300's and they do tend to vary in the details but this one has one particularly distinctive feature - the seat. Usually they are firm and very comfortable but this one is soft (still very comfortable, I'm pleased to say) and feels like it has a gel or air cushion insert in it - it's very strange! As far as they dealer is concerned, and they're the only ones who've had it, it's a standard seat and there isn't a 'comfort' version available that might have been fitted.

Anyone else come across this phenomenon? Did BMW play with different seats on the K1300 S?

I am on my second K13 the first being on a 59 plate and my current one being a 12 plated Sport model As far as the seat goes their is defo no change with mine

They did a low seat with one groove on the side and the standard height seat with two grooves as shown in the photo.

I've ridden four K1300 S's from this model year and various others. This is completely different to all of them. If it wasn't so new I'd take the cover off just to see what's in it!

Just thought I'd ask in case anyone had any ideas.
