K1600 Ryan F9 Interesting video

Interesting vid, although it is Hossack, not ...ick!

Crikey, Ryan has gained few kgs though.

I thought he’s bagged a bit of timber!

Turning to handling Ive never heard Wapping complaining about handling and I thought he had owned a couple of these.

The tyre wear and wheel alignment is interesting
With my K1600 it’s the first bike I have ever had that does the front tyre way before the rear. Almost 2-1, the reverse of the norm on my previous bikes.

I’ve also wound it up to some serious speeds solo and it’s always been rock solid - but it is the GT
🤷‍♂️

Enjoyed the Ryan F9 video.

Interestingly, with regard to Ryan's K1600 front end set-up explanation, I picked up this posting comment originally sourced from a member of the K1600 Forum ....

"Fascinating, but materially incorrect.

On the K1600, BMW deliberately used a carefully designed scissor link with precise geometry to connect the ‘bars to the wheel carrier, rather than the tie-rod as shown in the video. The effect is to eliminate bump steer.

So sorry Ryan, you’re wrong".

I had a 2015 GT & clocked up over 30k miles on it. A big lump but surprisingly nimble & a hoot to ride. I’m considering getting another when I change my RT.
I always replaced the tyres as a pair although it was the front tyre wear that prompted replacement.
The GTL is heavier than the GT & has a different rider position & bigger tank. Perhaps this magnifies the handling issues?
