K1600GT with Russel day long seat

Good evening all

I’ve just bought a K1600GT and want to put a single piece Russel day long seat on it.

I think basically I need the same set up as the GTL as that has a one piece seat and my GT has the two piece seat.

Does anyone know how to do this as the rear seat bolts in place and it appears the front seat sits in the same locating rubbers as the one piece seat?

Any advice much appreciated from your collective brains and knowledge

It shows the RDL set-up for retaining the 2 separate seats on the GT, as well as a few other options.

Unless you are are iron butt kinda guy, doing 1000 miles a day, I was wondering what the comfort issue was all about. These seats don't come cheap.

If you just want more comfort on the OE seat you could have it reworked rather than pay for a whole new seat unit.

I had my K1600GT seat reworked with more supportive foam and leather, so much nicer now and certainly up to day long touring.

Thanks for your replies gents as really appreciate the -I’ll do some digging and hopefully get the seat fitted -not looked under the RDL seat yet to see what fittings it has-the key looks a simple swap
