Morning all,

I've got some motorway miles coming up in a couple of weeks.

I've read good things about the KAOKO, so would like to give one a try on my R1150GS.

(Open to alternatives - I'm looking for something that allows me to relax or even better release my grip).

Cheers

That looks like a copy of the Atlas throttle lock. I have one on my RT and it works well. Had a Kaoko on a previous Gs and that worked well too. Let’s you relax your throttle hand which is good for me as I sometimes get numbness in the hands.

Thanks very much for the offer John, will drop you a private message.

Still interested in trying a KAOKO if someone has one gathering dust...
Only thing that occurs to me re that Rusty, is the Atlas type just takes a push of your thumb, where with the Kaoko, I had to wind it up to tension with my right little finger while still holding the throttle grip in position. A bit more awkward and takes longer, but does achieve the same result. Looks wise I liked the Kaoko, ease of use, the Atlas. Just my two pen’orth.

Thanks for your thoughts on the two KMD. I didn't appreciate you have to 'dial in' the Kaoko which sounds faffy when you're on the move.

The Atlas sounds like what I was looking for in terms of functionality. John's device is in the post - I'll feedback once I've got it set up and working.

I used to have a properly made “ cruise control “ plastic wedge thing. Can’t remember the make now. I now have one of those stainless steel ring ones that you gently roll towards the grip outside edge. It works great with a bit of practice.
Anyhow, the plastic curved wedge was so simple it pulled apart to position over the grip. Once you applied downward pressure it gripped the grip and was so easy to keep “ set “ I could use a tiny bit of pressure from my little finger tip. It could also work in the palm so no need to grip the throttle at all. Dunno what I did with that now? It must be in my box of spares somewhere.

Edit…..
It wasn’t an Oxford one but identical to this.
