Karoo 3's or TKC80

Looking to get a set of one of these but can't decide which.

Anyone with experience of these and what's your opinion?

I'm not sure which Karoo's I had (on my 1150) but the howled like a bitch compared to TKC80's and I found that quite off putting.

They did grip well though off road

Karoo 3s are really noisy but great on and off road if you accept their limitations on tarmac. TKC80's don't do high milages but are quieter.

I get decent (5k+ miles) use out of a Karoo 3 on the back of an 1150gs, twice that out of the front. They work fine on road and a fair way off. Haven't tried TCK80s as they have a reputation for wearing quickly and are horribly expensive here in NZ. I suppose the Karoos howl compared to Tourances, but I'm wearing earplugs anyway...
