Few minor health problems so may have to go 'light' !! My ZX9r seem's to take me for a ride and not the other way around :D

Lovely local Ninja 400 would appear to be for sale...so just aski9ng for any feedback ( seen the U-Tube stuff etc )

Thanks :beerjug:

Used to have a ‘94 ZXR400, bike was amazing to ride, great front end and such nimble handling. Nothing happened below 6000rpm which would require a few down changes on the road?
It saved my life on the road, I was in my mid 20’s and had an R1 as my only transport.
I was young(er), dumb and full of… enthusiasm and getting close to confusing my ability with my ambition.

So two years with BMCRC calmed me down

Nice. I must have missed your original post but I had one when returning to riding a few years back, attracted by the weigh and seat height. My issue was I found it too weighty on the wrists for a gentleman of my age

Well, I bought one; just 750 miles on her. Neighbour reckons I am colour blind:ROFLMAO:
How are you getting on with the 400 Ninja Kenny? I have the opportunity to acquire one and might be tempted if I can agree a price.

That sounds great. Kenny I read up on these on the web and articles quoted quite different performance levels. Top speeds of about 102mph versus 118mph or so. Which feels more likely to you?

Just got the 1000 miles on her so only just run in. She will be spanked tomorrow but will have to be careful as mate just got done for 35 mph in Bala on his Royal Enfield !!

If they'll nick someone on a Royal Enfield they'll nick anyone; bastards;; :D

A speeding ticket on a Royal Enfield is like badge of honour

Still enjoying it Kenny?

I met an old boy last week on one, possibly the first I've seen on the road. It looked fabulous, and his was in great nick despite having a good number of miles on it, it looked like a high quality bike.

He confirmed that the top end was closer to the 118mph figure - sounds like with a good handful of revs, they fly. :thumb2

Yes, still enjoying her...massive 1100 miles on my KRT version. Highley recommended ( although, may be tempted with the ZX4RR in the spring ). Pic from Denbigh Moors

Just done it... ZX400rr 40th Anniversary incoming, quite excited to get it run it and feel that buzz of that engine, takes me back to my youth!! my first bike was a 400 bandit, redlining at 15k, loved it!!, started off looking at the R7, then the ZX6rr but comparisons on the web pitting the ZX4rr against the R7 and ZX6 are really interesting, the 4 is a better riding position (for me at least) and the power more usable (for me) than the ZX6 which is apparently balls out racing bike, your knees up under your chin, and the R7, a re-working of the MT07 didn't really appeal or match up to the overall excitement of the built for purpose ZX4rr.

Tuned and in the right hands on track (and well beyond my aspirations I might add... )

Is that the twin or the four cyl ?
I rode the twin and was very impressed great fun

A&D have one of their mechanics doing really well on the 4cyl one in the Teenage Talent cup at BSB apparently the bikes are right weapons.

Tis eye confused me also as this thread is about the Ninja 400 which is a parallel twin .

He’s bought a ZX400RR which doesn’t exist so think he means the Ninja ZX-4RR which is the inline 4 screamer .

Pedantic... if your still confused you'll likely have to google that)

'Confused me also'' yet I didn't see anyone else that was confused by my post except you....

In the thread I referred to a 400rr, zx4rr, and a 4, also my post was a direct response and quoted Kenny, who mentioned that he was considering a zx4rr in the spring so I quoted that post with "just done it". The Image also somewhat gives it away....

If this confuses you perhaps don't respond because you are only going to confuse yourself even more... :nenau

Almost went for the ZX4RR but when out and about in North and Mid Wales, the roads are well over regulated at speeds ( gasp up to 50 mph allowed in places ). Plus my local dealer wasn't exactly helpful on the price ! So, maybe not the actual ZX4RR ( still love all about it though) but now considering the Ninja 500 as a fun bike. Have to sell the Z1000SX Ninja first though.

Where did those two years go ? Should have kept the 400 twin as well but ended up on this little beast ( big thanks to A & D motorcycles, Denbigh for the deal ).
Just an update for the thread ( although a shoulder injury is playing havoc with my riding at the moment )
