Keeping keys safe?

I'd like something at home that I can keep bike/house/car/shed keys in. I'm disturbed by the rising number of thieves breaking into houses, nicking keys then making off with your pride & joy.

Can somebody recommend a wall mounted safe / strongbox with keypad or combination lock that will do the business?

Did some googling and came up with this from Argos for £19.99

For that price I might just pop out and get one.

A note of caution re: digital/electonic safes esp. cheap ones.

They can be a bugger to get into if the batteries discharge...............

Good point. This one has a key override. I just picked it up from Argos in Weston. The *exact* same safe at a local hardware shop was £39.99

I won't kid myself that for £19.99 it is anything other than a strongbox. It certainly won't be used as a safe - just a place to keep some keys.

My mate's got one just like that Mike (I think he got it from Screwfix Direct) - it fits neatly into the bottom of one of his kitchen wall cabinets

Mike I,ve had one of these for some time now,(from makro same price you paid) fits in a cupyhole really well, used resin rawlbolts to anchor it down. It,s definately better than nothing.

got 1 it comes with a set of keys as back up just dont leave the safe keys inside:smurf
