KEIS panel mounted connector

Hi All

Anyone come across a panel mounted connector for plugging in your KEIS heated jacket etc. I beleive the Gerbin one is not the same size.

Do you have a picture of (or at least a decent link to) the plug you want to push into the flush mounted socket?

You need a panel mount / surface mount / flush mount / bulkhead mount SAE socket. The name varies but the three letters SAE remain constant. Sometimes they get called, two pin SAE. Google is now your best friend.

I am on an aeroplane with a poor internet connection, but maybe something like this is what you have in mind?

Failing that, you could always chop the plug off and replace it or use an adaptor into another socket, perhaps?

Wapping, That sounds very workable. I emailed KEIS and their sales team indicted that one of their tech team would be in contact as they had an option.

Will post when I get it. I could also wire a standard powerlet adapter to battery and use a pigtail from the KEIS to powerlet male.
Mount it in one of the radio button holes on the R1200rt LC fairing.....

You can get adaptors to make them fit. I spoke with a helpful lady a few years ago at the KEIS importer and she got me the proper name for the adaptor.

Our technical guy said the following –



The only way round this is, is to have as standard cigarette (power) socket mounted somewhere we don’t have them, but they are available and then use a Keis cigarette socket lead (370032) to power the Keis garment. Or if the customer wanted he could wire in a Tecmate O-01 from the battery, then a O08 (rubber capped) or O18 spring loaded cap to provide the DIN sized socket. He could then use the 370032 by removing the adaptor. 370032 is dual purpose with removable adaptor for both DIN and cigarette (power) size sockets as found in cars, although they don’t call them cigarette lighter sockets these days. But there will still be wires around to a certain extent depending on where the socket is positioned.



If the customer went to Maplin’s or somewhere like with the garment I feel sure they could supply a panel mounted socket to fit our plugs. Better if water proof. Please advise customer whatever route he goes down the supply MUST be fused to the correct value of the garments being supplied.

So, Keis's (technical) bod's reply is to use an adaptor or a couple of adaptors or change the garment's plug or change the power supply lead on the bike or find an SAE socket.

Keis's man is a (technical) genius. Next stop for him... manned flights to Mars.

The SAE connector would also work but then I would have to change the connectors on my other kit....


Keeps it basic and I get to use the socket for my air pump, and charging also.
