Kenwood TK-3310 "bleep"?

Has anyone been able to disable the loud "bleep" that occurs each time the TK-3310 is powered-up? Now I'm using in-ear speakers I'm finding it DEAFENING!"!!!!

Turn the volume down or if inaccessible turn it on BEFORE you put the helmet on

It can be turned off in the software program.
