They're certainly warmer than standard jeans, and kevlar lining "chafes" slightly. I quite often wear the Hornee jeans casually in winter, when the warmth isn't a problem.
Just made the mistake of calling in J&S again today and ended up with another pair of Red Routes but in black and a clean cut jean, Oh and £300 worth of casual riding jacket. Now skint.
I'm currently using (don't laugh!) Aldi Kevlar jeans (£32) with hip and knee armour. They are heavy weight denim and the Kevlar is only in certain areas, not all over. I don't find them any warmer than I'd expect of heavy denim jeans.
I'm looking for some quality ones though for a trip to Spain later this year so the Bull-It ones appeal if the bumf about keeping you cooler is to be believed?
Update on the Bull-it jeans. Just tried them out for the first time. They have a mesh lining which lets them breath and the armour is also vented which stops you from sweating. Very impressed with the jeans. Purchase for using in warm weather mainly in Europe. Much better than the Kevlar jeans I have used. They are the only jeans in the world to be Tested to CE level 2. 4 times stronger than any other Motorcycle Kevlar jeans.
