I'd like to buy myself a pair of kevlar jeans but I'm not sure what the difference is between the very expensive ones and those that are a lot cheaper. Anyone got any experience of the less expensive sort? Anyone slid down the road on their backsides wearing cheapos?
I imagine that the expensive ones have a bit more style but frankly, at my age, style isn't as important as avoiding motorash.
Cheers

The cheaper ones seem to have thinner kevlar material with a smaller coverage area.

But be aware, kevlar lined jeans - in my experience - are bloody hot things to wear. And none of them are 'stylish'!

I looked around for these and ended up buying the BMW city trousers. Absolutely superb and come with armour.

At my age, or maybe it was the the "baggy" cut of the jeans, I just looked a complete knobber walking around in them....

"Hornee" jeans- well-built and stylish:thumb

Hotter than "air" trousers, but better protection I reckon.

I wear the Linstrands jeans, they are part of the Harvarlsson group and their stuff is good. The 3 layered jacket is really good for summer. just been into Europe and the jacket was really cool up to 30degs. the jeans are comfy and fit well although we are all different shapes and sizes aren't we.

Ive had Draggin and now Hood jeans. Both seem to be good but lets be honest, you hope to never find out just how good.
The advantage Hood have over Draggin is that they have full length kevlar lining. Draggin have 'patches' of kevlar and come in a standard length that you cut to the right length, this means us short arse gits end up with the kevlar not quite in the right place by the knee (or at least thats how mine were)

Oh yeah, i was knocked off my bike wearing Hood's, lucky for me i slid down a grass verge so the denim didnt wear through let alone the kevlar so cant count this as a success for the Kevlar really

Hood K7 Jeans for me, MADE IN THE UK...

Lots of Para-aramid, good quality Denim, fit and look fine on me, one tip though is get at least another inch or even two in the leg length unless your riding a feet forward thing like a Harley as like any trouser they do ride up. Ordered the wrong size or not sure? (mine were one size to big) give them a ring, they'll send another pair to compare, now that's service! :thumb2
