If the panniers are coded to the bike ie same key does everything, then does this mean that if i sell the bike in a few years i will either have to see panniers with the bike, or get a new expensive BMW key for the panniers?

Or can i get a non immobiliser key cut from the BMW ignition key that would then work in my panniers? Never had to get a key shaped like the BMW ones cut so not sure if all lock places would do it and if its expensive. If it is, i think i'll just get non coded locks and carry 2 keys...

call me tomorrow and I will talk you through it

Straighforward if a bit fiddly to change locks. Need a kit from BMW comprising the tumblers(?) and springs. All pannier/top box locks are the same, just have to reconfigure the pattern of tumblers to fit the key.

Not a major problem

spoke to someone at southport bikes (Jim was busy) and all is crystal clear now, :thumb

Just need to get some panniers ordered from somewhere now and i will be a very happy bunny :D
