has anyone removed their alarm as beamer bloke said this is showing as having one but not installed.
needs removing or putting one back on ??

cheers

If I remember correctly Its under the pillion seat below the plastic bodywork

If its not been set to arm automatically then you'd never know its there till it goes tits up

I was thinking if someone with the standard bmw alarm could check this and remove it but they would need the blanking resistor link

I am confused by the talk of two electrical OFF positions on the ignitions switch (off and lock/sleep)

the wiring schemes show two wires to the switch therefore the bike is either on or off? there is no second option with less drain

maybe the lock position is used when a radio or alarm is fitted but on a standard bike it doesn't appear to be

It would be a faff because the under seat carrier has to come off. If it's an Adventure the carries also have to come off. It's all well thought out. Oh yes.

Oh by the way used old car battery cell filling cap which had the same thread as the braking system filling pots on the servo system to make a funal filling adaptor. its like the one you buy from america that costs 40 quid, so ive run new dot 4 through the system.

Back to the battery drain anyone removed or replaced the dwa 6 alarm on an 04' ?
Or does anyone know how to add this alarm ?????

so its 4mA when alarm has been removed and not searhed for --- or 68mA when alarm has been removed balnking resistor has been added but left in memory and is being searched for..
anyone know please...

Any idea's anybody on whether removed alarm would cause this 68mA drain on the battery ?
Someone must know this

There is an option to check the alarm module for fault codes with a GS911, but that's about all I know.

What happens if you take the 120 ohm resistor off? Does the bike show a fault and what does it do to the current drain? Stick a multimeter across the resistor and make sure the value is what it says.
