Hi all,
I was going through keyfob batteries at a rate of 1 every 6 weeks… i tried all brands.

I bought one of those RFID keybags off amazon to keep the keys in when not riding - no issues now for 6 months :beerjug:

My keys are kept in the house upstairs but in a straight line through walls the distance is only about 5 metres so think it was seeking a signal constantly.

Anyway, it seems fixed now for me.
Might help someone ?

A bit of a pain though having to do this purely for keyless ride? how many times have you got all geared up sat on the bike and realised your key is upstairs :D

Done it many times still haven't figured out a reasonable solution for keeping my key somewhere, away from the bike, where i dont forget it.

what would you do with a normal key? Keep it in the steering lock of the bike?

my keyless fob is in the same place as the other keys i.e. hung on a hook in a cupboard far enough away from the garage and front door so that any thief would have to spend a bit of time looking for it.

Mine lives in my jacket, two brick walls and a 1m corridor, and about another metre from the bike. Never had an issue that I know about.

Battery lasted about 2 years.

I think this may just be a coincidence, I only have to walk the length of the bike away for the bike to lose sight of the key fob. My keys are kept about the same distance as yours from the bike.

There are a lot of rip-off batteries out there, especially on Amazon and eBay, I was going through batteries on a previous bike at about one every two weeks until I started buying them from a reliable source

Yeah my bike is a garage queen and my old keyed bike sat in the garage with the key in the ignition all its life.

So now the keyless causes me minor annoyance I just haven't yet found that right place to keep the key.

That would never happen with me, the key for the security lock is on the same keyfob.
i never thought of it that way, but yea stops me forgetting the key.

No mate i keep my keys in the jacket pocket upstairs and just removed them from the bag once in the garage ready to ride - dead easy no hassle.
