"Keyless Ride". I got me a hard key!

Yep,it can be done. Save damaging or losing the key fob.
Use a "non-chipped" hard key for the seat,bags and GPS.
$19.00USD list.

...and if you don't want the alarm to auto-arm and use a fob, unless you want to lose two fobs they key is the ideal thing to attach it to. central locking on the RT makes more sense. i can see where BMW are coming from but not sure about the implementation.

I love it.
No more "where are my keys" ?
And the times I've put on my gloves and helmet only to realise my bloody keys are still in my pocket. and off the gloves come....
OK, i need it for the Sat Nav and Panniers, but day to day its great.
Its a bit like the GSAP. If you have it, you love it, if you haven't, its shit.

I had no choice when I purchased the bike..."floor model".
The *fob* is pricey to replace if lost....and some claim "flimsy" when using the flip key.

......but the ease of using a "hard key" for pannier entry,GPS removal on trips and seat removal is much more easier than using the keyed plastic bodied fob.
Would I have ordered the "keyless" had I the opportunity???.....prolly not.
But having it is somewhat of a nice feature....like some of the other features the bike came with.

On the morning i collected my bike, the salesman dropped my key fob breaking the actual key. I had to use the plastic key until the new one arrived. So I now have two. So the flimsy comments may be right. Its nice to know that I have a spare.
Im glad I chose the keyless option.
