I have recent bought a 1974 R90S and only have the one ignition key with it. Does anyone know where I can get a blank to get a cut locally . I am not fussed about not having a folding key as I have at present. as far as I can tell there appears to be no number on the key or the barrel.

BMW Main dealers will get them or have them, probably cheaper too

CW will most certainly have them and if not will get you one in 1-2 days

Motorworks buy from Main dealers:augie

Then why not just take it to a local key cutter? - there's nowt special about them that stops a local firm doing it. :nenau

Keys available

buy them from motobins uncut look on there website

Thanks for that I have just bought both styles for £6 from Moto- Bins.

The BMW garage near by could not help as they are no longer in stock from BMW.

That's a far too simple an option. he'll even cut it for you while you're there :D

Just a quick PS to all the above replies, the reason they had folding tops was that a non-folding key could get its head snapped off by top of the fork on full lock if you left it poking out of the steering lock. :thumb2

Thanks for the information about the folding key John-it is lucky that I ordered folding blanks to be cut by my local hardware store.
