How many keys should have I received with my 2018 GS 1200? It has keyless ignition. I had one remote fob, a wallet key and a little round black sensor to override the keyless system.

Is that correct?

I had a remote fob with flick out key and a wallet key that you hold under the seat to start the bike. Not sure about a little round black sensor?

I got one flip out key and one plastic key that starts the bike by placing under seat. Thats it nothing else. No sensor thats just a black plastic tag nothing else.

Yes it’s a black plastic tag. Seems to be all present and correct then.

Has anybody here bought a new spare fob?

cheaper to just get an extra key cut for the panniers and satnav, that way fob will be fine, you will have to go to dealer with passport and vin number.

Has anyone got a new key cut, just for the luggage, I ask as my wife has always has a key to open the top case and panniers.

Spoke very nicely with my dealer who left a huge box full of bunches of BMW keys for me to try out on my top box in the showroom. Two coffees later I’d bagged myself a bunch which had three identical keys that fit my ally boxes for the price of a charity donation.

Apparently the spare keys come with the ally panniers before they are recoded:nenau

I have both an extra fob (about £185 and has to come from Germany in a large cardboard wallet) and a non-chipped key which I use for luggage/nav. I take the spare fob with me minus batteries (yes I carry the batteries!) in the hip pocket and main fob on lanyard round my neck. Therefore almost impossible to get stranded with keyless an no chance of breaking the fob key as the panniers can be a bit of a pain to attach - and strangely the non-fob key only works one way up on the panniers, but both ways on the top box. Probably stiff/dodgy pannier lock barrels...

You can buy blanks from ebay or ali express for under a fiver. Ask your local key cutter to copy for you.
i went this route and total cost was £17 so in hind sight dealer option for £25 might be better?
