Cultural morning today.
Visited the V1, V2 mines and massize con centration camps site near Nordhausen.
75 minutes of German tour guide chat then 30 minutes in a small section of the mines complex. The Englush version of the pamphlet I bought doesn't say much about the mines but they were massive!
I'm now in Weringerode, very like Goslar, for the night.

If you've time, maybe head for the Soviet war memorial at Treptow? Plus maybe the remnants of the AVUS racing circuit? There's a cafe in the Grunewald that's a bit of a biker meet up place too ... http://www.secretcitytravel.com/ber...innerbruecke-biker-motorbike-bar-berlin.shtml I came across it and the AVUS raceway by accident on my way into the city, so if you're coming from the Harz, they're on your route.
Berlin's a great city. Enjoy!

I've noticed that all over the Harz area there are circular, mainly metal, man hole covers in the middle of your lane, even on bends!
They must be fun in the pissing rain.
