Kick start?

Still in the process of recommissioning my newly acquired PD, but is does run very well. This bike has the kick starter fitted, I’ve had a couple of feeble attempts but is there a knack to starting these with the kicker?

Don’t try and wang it over like you might with a big single,
Two or three steady prods work better,

It is one of the reasons I bought the bike, there is a certain pleasure/satisfaction kick starting a bike.

Also apparently there are different ignition amplifier modules for the kick start bikes to cope with the Low RPM to generate a signal If I remember correctly Proff told me that one

... but according to realoem it would seem that the part is not longer available as new part from BMW. Hearsay knows the following alternatives:

As Mikeyboy says, 2 or 3 steady prods.

My routine, and mine only seems to start from cold on the kicker, is:

Switch on.
Choke on full (although have been told this isn't necessary)
Half inch twist of throttle and let go
Kick 2 to 4 times smartly in one session (no gaps)

It'll either start or not.

I find praying and swearing at it gets mine started with only 20 or 30 kicks.
