Unfortunately my mate is rearranging his house and is using the shed as storage for all sorts of crap so getting into the shed was impossible let alone try to find something in there. Sorry.
It does seem though, that you're wasting your time. Steptoe says that you'll need a different ignition module to allow it to start on the kick. I certainly never managed it while it was on the bike.
