kickstart not working

I will be at Baskerville with my kick-start 80g/s, you are welcome to practise, it has the correct ignition system fitted and does start quite easy on the kicker
I just may have 3 kick-start equipped bikes with me, just in case anyone has never seen one on a bike

My kickstarter turns the engine but feels as if it just moves the piston along a little, not like a normal k/starter that feels as if it turns the engine over. I've had all sorts or jap big singles and never had a problem starting them, hot or cold. I've also had the dubious pleasure of two Husky MX 500 two stokes that you had to kick backwards with the starter on the left side of the bike under your armpit (only 5 ft 7ins tall). Total bastards both of them.
I hope I never had to try to start the Beemer in anger with the k/start. Although its bound to happen now! Probably at the front of the ferry que.

Thanks Proff. Have a good time at Baskerville. Look out for that f****** hound. Regret I won't make it due to other business. It's only just over the bridge and up through Monmouth. Otherwise I would welcome the chance to try the R80GS kickstarter. Maybe at another meet (Hograast?). Keep trying Sylvester.We will master this. Suggest GS kickstarting competition. Leo.

He's no Tosser, that's for sure. He either has the knack or it's camera trickery.
