Hunting for a new suit, and looking at the price of good stuff it just occurred to me that my insurance policy gives me £1000 cover for kit and accessories in the event of a spill.
In my case that would just replace the panniers, but leave me having to find loads of money for boots, lid etc (depending on the spill, of course...:augie)
I'm insured with BMW, who don't allow you to pay more for more kit cover. Anyone know of somewhere that does sperate policies for this stuff? Worth a few quid a month I reckon.

Bikesure used to....not sure if they still do?

When I got my Rukka kit I was advised to put it on the household insurance under sporting goods.

I'm not sure about in an accident....but that would be covered by the 'kit policy' that is added to my Carole Nash bike policy.

I certainly think it'd be covered for loss and damage, just as other items are covered away from the home..cameras, specs, jewelery etc.

Being involved I an accident would cloud the issue I'm sure, knowing that insurance companies like to pass the buck! But I'd certainly try.
