Lots of reviews on this forum that mention age of said kit - but not usage:- eg Rukka Jacket faded and was replaced under warranty after 1/2/3 years etc - but no indication of mileage or sort of usage.

Would help me assess the reliability of kit if the mileage/sort of usage was included.

Cheers.

OK,

My original Rukka kit is now 6 years old and has averaged 3 - 5 thousand miles a year, most of the year round ( all seasons except snow and ice ).

Hangs up in a wardrobe the rest if the time.

No fade yet.

Recently replaced by a newer Rukka outfit but original still doing the same kind of mileage with my brother in law.

Hein Gericke Master V (jacket and trousers).

I end up replacing these when they're on offer or get damaged by me.

They've averaged 2 years, which is around 50-60K and I'm on my 3rd set.

Weakest part of them is the knee/arm protectors, the design means eventually they'll break in two.

oh, and they get get a cold water wash, nixwax spray, tumble dryed around 3/4 times a year.

With the loss of the MasterV from the HG range, I don't know where to go next, thankfully that decision (unless I have an off) won't be for another year at the earliest. Klim look good, but I'm unsure about their collars. This is the bane of selecting an all-season jacket, removable collars.
Smallest blooming piece and somehow is an expensive feature.

Had the original HG Cruise for 4 years, 100K, all weathers around UK and Europe. Nikwaxed every year and never let in a drop. Nice and cosy with liner in winter. Only got rid because Velcro had worn away internal lining around waist fastening and around neck. Still using trousers up until 3 months ago.
