KLE 500

Looking forward to your thoughts on it, Mike. I've only sat on, not ridden, one. I think it's nice looking but with some odd compromises.

It’s a bit compromised off road but is a great road bike . I wonder if Mike ventured off-road ?

Hopefully not someplace rocky. Ian tried and picked his way as best as he could but still ended up bashing up the bottom.

The bike is probably pleasant to ride on roads and very mild trails.

I took it through some large ish ruts and it was ok but I wasn’t going very fast .
It’s got a great motor for the road if you work the box .Probably won’t sell as all the muppets will moan that it’s got limited ground clearance off-road so not buy it , even though they would have never taken it off-road anyway .Social media has a lot to answer for !

Chris Northover shared your opinion on it to, only thing I guess I'd like to see would have been tubeless, but I'm a 95% road monkey and have the skills of a monkey when it comes to repairing tubes :)

Japanese manufacturers do need to do more still to combat the wave of Chinese competition, as do the Europeans.

hi I didnt go off road (because I am crap at it)
Primarily testing for pure onroad and trips away with bigger bikes
This is for my brother he is dead keen on the Himi but we are trying alternatives

Will be finishing off over the weekend ( busy as 10 men at the moment)

One question I have is been looking at new thumbnails
Does this look better than normal or just AI slop

I used to glide at that airfield hence the pic

I don't see how it can sell very well. Sure it runs fine and is nicely styled but I just don't see much demand for a tall, high revving, 450cc bike with 17"/21" tube tyres, that only has the same ground clearance as something like an NX500. It'll be interesting to see how A&D does with them, the dealer here still had the same one on the floor when I was in last week.

I’d hazard a guess that 90% of potential buyers in the UK will never take a KLE off-road , and for purely on road use, the KLE has a great involving power plant .
I guess the market is different in the USA judging by most comments both on here and on social media in general .

Compared to its direct competitors, the KLE is much faster .

No and many in the US probably won't take them through the woods and over rocks either, it's really not designed for that. That's what I meant by compromises it's an all roads type tall motorcycle dressed up with dirt bike skinny 21" front & 17" rear, tubed tyres.

Just my opinion but given the bikes ground clearance I think the bike would sell better as a "Multistrada" with a 19"/17" combo and fitted with cruise.
