Hi,

I am wondering if the esteemed members of this forum could assist.

My problem is that I have developed "foot drop" in my left foot following a back injury, it's probably permanent, this means I have restricted movement in my left foot.

Not one to be dismayed - or at least only for a while and being one who wishes to carry on I have obtained a Kliktronic Gear kit, it's been fitted to my 06 GS and it works, I have 2 buttons below the throttle which trigger the thing , it did require some engineering, spaces to be fitted etc and it bolts onto the side airbox. The handlebar part needed mods as well because of the heated grips with a machined collar to support it. Fortunately I found a good general purpose workshop that can do the work with ease - I think the guys enjoyed the challenge.

However the cylinder of the Kliktronic presses into my left inside lower leg, - What I am after is some replacement footpegs that are a little longer than standard to give my feet a bit more sideways play, I have size 12 feet, I have seen lower pegs and wider pegs, and pegs that tilt but not longer pegs,
Is there anything out there that you guys could recommend?.

I will pop a few pics on here in due course.

Thanks.

Wunderlich does a "vario" peg system. It allows many positions of the pegs thru a multiple position clutch system. There's a warning on their site somewhere (of course can't find it right now), to say it brings the pegs out by X mm. I believe it's 20-25. You simply can't get your feet closer in because of the space the "clutch" system takes - might suit your requirements?
Website is not very clear though, think you need to select the base part, the matching vario part with 3 different offsets, and the pegs you want.

Thanks, as far as I can tell the Wunderlich system seems the best idea, it's most confusing, as you say you need a peg, a plate and a block, presumably they do come in pairs although the site doesn't show it.

The peg is mounted on a plate that you can move through an arc with a choice of a 20mm, 30mm or 50mm offset - I think that maybe 50mm straight down would not be ideal.

Has anybody used Rainbow BMW? they seem to have a massive if somewhat disorganized parts catalogue.

I use them for bikes/servicing and they are very good

Speak to Tony or Sarah in parts and if they have difficulty in understanding the technicality of your requests, ask to speak to Steve (Service manager), who is an ace mechanic to boot and sits nearby

Pity you are in Reading as they have a really good main mechanic who has adapted things before for clients
