I'm looking at buying a Klim Latitude jacket but detest buying clothing off the internet, I much prefer to try stuff on.
Anyway, I'm torn between a size small & a medium. I've tried a medium Traverse jacket and felt it was a bit big on the body but the sleeve length wasn't too bad. I'm worried the small will be too short in the sleeves.
As a guide I was between sizes on a BMW Rallye 3 jacket but went for the size 48 & I'm happy with it.

Anyone of a similar size can give me a bit of advice -
5'-6" tall
36" chest
10 stone wet through.

i have the new badlands jacket and trousers i am a 48/50 in chest and although the large fitted me fine i went for the xl so as to layer up when the weather gets cold the advantage of this jacket is that you can pull in the sleaves when you are only useing the jacket with no other kit under it and the kidny belt works in the same way
not having thought about the latatude i can only go on what i know about klim bur would say go for the large

I was about to comment "Get on your bike and head all of 21 miles over to Adventure Spec at the bottom of Crag Vale" but looking at their website to check their contact details they have gone from 'we are happy to welcome customers with a prior appointment' to 'we do not do retail, no customers may visit our offices, please check online for listed distributors' - bonkers!

I was fulsome in my praise for Adventure Spec when they sold me a Klim Latitude suit last year as they accommodated the fact that I couldn't get to them during the afternoons when they used to allow customers to visit; is actually selling stuff such a bad thing or do they have the attitude that time spent with customers is time wasted? I would have thought that their 'customers on site by appointment only' policy would have been enough to discourage timewasters but their business, their choice I suppose. :nenau

Anyway - back to the original question...as I am nowhere near your size I cannot comment specifically but can recommend you contact Cliff at The Adventure Bike Shop www.adventurebikeshop.co.uk 01787 372901...very knowledgeable and helpful and will, no doubt, be able to sort you out. :thumb

I actually emailed them and asked them the arm pit to cuff length of a Latitude jacket size small. They replied very quickly but the dimension they gave of 460mm seems rather short to my mind.

Thanks on the Adventure Bike Shop advice :thumby:

I purchased the old badlands Jacket and trousers earlier this year i am a 43" chest and went for Medium, the fit is perfect ... so I would have recommended the small for 36"chest. I was like you, I could not decide between M and L so got both shipped. Adventure Spec refunded the money the same day they received the jacket that I didnt keep, back at their shop.

J&S Accessories now stock Klim gear and have 26 stores around the country. Don't know about what they have in store but it might be worth a phone call to your nearest shop.

I am sure Gary (Skygod of this parish) at ABW would get one in for you to try, did you ask?
Adventure Spec post within 24 hours if in stock and have a good returns policy, though you would have to cover postage.
I have a Latitude they are great, if you don't mind having the previous model as it's just been updated I think there are a few deals to be had. Either way I dint think you will be disappointed, just make sure if you are going to be riding through the winter you will need space for a middle layer, fleece or primaloft etc. Venting during our warmer weather is excellent.

I've just tried on a small Badlands my mate's son has and it was "snug". ABS got back to me and suggested a small!
FC Moto have size small (no medium) in the previous style for a great price. I don't like the new style anyway.

Thanks for all the advice.

I got a new 2015 Latitude outfit 2 weeks ago from Cliff and Jenny at The Adventure Bike Shop in Suffolk. I'm 39 chest and got a medium jacket, they sent me a large for a start but it was too big.

With the troos, they actually come in UK imperial sizes, they sent a 36'' for a start which I normally am, but these were a bit long and loose so they picked 'em up and sent a 34 inch which are fine.

I think that you will need a small in the jacket and try your normal 'tight' UK size in the pants, but as mentioned by Thor, you will need room for an under garment, the Klim gear does not have provision for fitted liners but instead rely on you layering up underneath. I ended up getting the Klim base layer thermals and a Keis heated waistcoat for the cooler days.

Cliff and Jenny are great to deal with, and as they have both ridden to New Zealand they have 'walked the walk' and have a lot of knowledge... and patience.

I originally wanted a Badlands, but after trying it on I found it a bit too over engineered for what I wanted, the new Latitude is a very comfortable outfit, and I really like it. I did try most of the other 'top end' gear before I ended up with the Klim. The Latitude comes with D30 armour as standard.

Hope this helps.

I have just returned from J&S in Oxford!

I went in to buy a Rukka Armaxis, but was more taken by the Klim Badlands.

Both same price, but the Klim seemed more of an all year jacket to me.
Rukka seem to have dropped the lockout closure, but I wasn't convinced by the waterproof zip and no storm flap they have replaced it with.

Anyhow, 6' 2" with a 45" chest and size 56 Rukka or Klim in a Large fits me a treat.
