Klim Overland kit - worth a punt??

So two of us warned you about the baggy trousers/armour thing and you bought them and don't like them because of the baggy trousers armour thing....... I dunno ;)

FWIW I've just git my mits on the Badlands jacket and am VERY pleased with it......but......as you say they aren't cheap are they!

love my Jacket and trousers . Ok no thermal liner but heh layer up if need be
Used them all over the world and hard wearing , ok not many pockets but far better than the Alpinestars stuff I had before :thumby:

My Badlands just arrived today from those nice chaps at Adventure bike Warehouse. Suit is mightily impressive and fits perfectly. The trousers are spot on too and using the rear straps they tie down perfectly. I definitely would say they aren't baggy at all but then I do have sprinters legs :aidan

I'll just get used to layering up which will be fine as the sole aim was to have a suit that I can have good venting on when touring - something which the Armas lacks.

Klim Apex jacket - recently tried one on at ABW . What a great road jacket.... Bit too pricey for me as I wear something cheaper with a windproof / waterproof shell over the top of required. I layer underneath rather than use the jackets thermal liner.

I do have a Rukka jacket but rarely wear it because it's heavy and gets saturated when wet a mentioned by another poster.

Would deffo put an Apex on my Xmas list:thumb

Thanks Andres (et al) for the advice. But often you just have to try them for yourself to find out you don't like em!

got Badlands jacket and trousers and it is top notch gear.....only annoying thing is the kidney belt that disappears inside the jacket every time you take it off. The venting is really good and the little press stud button down collar if ya too hot. The cuffs are tight but you could always get some Klim gloves as i have that are tight on the wrist and easily fit under the cuffs.... As for warmth..all i have under is a base layer and im toasty. I do have a heated jacket but with that under the Badlands its too warm when turned on. Trousers are a little stiff at first but soon loosen up and the straps keep the knee pads in place, i love the pockets which are so easy to get into whilst on the bike at toll boothes etc... Simple and easy to fit over sidi adventure boots. Bone dry in the wet and looks good too...... i did get the yellow one and in two months it was scruffy so would advise the black...
Klim gear is superb in my opinion and if they did wives i might get one.....:hug

Oh... and got it from Adventure Bike Warehouse...great guys and proper service..

I've been trying to find a solution for that and only thing I can find that works is simply to remember when taking the jacket off is to fasten the belt behind your back so that it's ready to go next time. I've tried that these past couple of days and it seems I've got into the habit - result! Worth a try anyway as I don't see another solution. A truly top notch piece of kit.

KLIM SIZES
Is KLIM gear generously sized, small or about average?
I am thinking of buying a new Latitude Jacket mail order from a German distributor, I would normally buy an XL size or 54 Euro size in BMW jackets (I have BMW Tourshell and Trailguard jackets in size 54) does anybody have any pointers on this? Cheers :thumby:

Im a 54 in a rukka jacket and I take an L in klim - they seem pretty big sizing.

Hope this helps

Some very good prices on Fcmoto. I looked at a Klim Badlands Pro last year, but didn't like how stiff it was, so went with Rukka. The prices seem to have dropped a heck of a lot since then.:beerjug:

Is the cheaper priced kit the old style as there is new badlands now out and I've seen a lot of the old style going at a greatly reduced price,I would have got some myself but there is none left in my size :blast

I have a large in the new Badlands and i had a 54 in the Rallye jacket.....the Badlands is fine but i only have a base layer and some times heated jacket on and its snug......as Nutty says they are a bit stiff at first but soon soften up..

Yup, the cheap(er) kit is form the old range. So, e.g. Badlands Pro is the old one and Badlands is the new 'un.
