Klim?

I have the 'cheaper' jacket. Love it .... (no lining, just a bonded goretex tough material and you choose what to wear underneath from a base layer to a heated jacket). Wouldn't be without it now ..... :thumb2

I wore my Klim Traverse jacket yesterday in very rain and got a soaked for the 2nd time since I've had it :( so whilst they're excellent fairly new I'm having my doubts now :(

I was also wearing bmw Atlantis trousers with the gortex lining and still got a wet crutch.

Does it rise from the bottom of jacket up (capillary action, wicking up underneath) as I've had no success with jackets & trousers that don't have the full zip around the waist in very wet weather

Hence my question above

Do you find the Traverse warm or do you have to layer up lots, in cooler weather?

Cheers

The Traverse and Latitude are just a shell so of course you need layers for warmth.

No it wasn't wicking, just pissed straight through both arms. It also leaks on the front but for work I wear a hi viz and waterproof bib which is what kept the rain out!

I also have a Latitude jacket which is good at the moment apart from the collar draw string breaking the first time I used it, I try not to wear this jacket too often as the experience of a slightly older and leaking has left me want to save it for an Iceland trip.

Ok Tim
Thanks for the update, not very familiar with the Klim range so not sure which are shell & which are full jackets
Had a few peeps speak of leaks, wonder what they'll be like after 5 years use ?

Tims will be covered in fag but burns and stained with spilt Super Tenants ....

Think I've already made my mind up long before a 5 yr period BUT I virtually only wear either of mine these days.... (and that's every day, just off for another 7 hrs + in it now!).... because although the older Traverse leaks I love them in every other way ..... and of course if it's raining, you can always shelter under the tarp with your bike:D

Tim, if the jacket isn't physically damaged, then send it back to Klim, they have a life time warranty on the goretex so will sort it out.

I had the same problem with my jacket in the states last, got home and Klim replaced the jacket no quibble. Good customer service!

Yes, I will thanks. The jacket still looks mint with no damage:thumb

Bonded Gortex onesie - that's what the BMW coverall suit is, tough very waterproof and you decide what to wear underneath. I use it for work and I really do not need to turn up for meetings with a wet crouch
