Was driving through Knaresborough High Street last Saturday lunchtime-ish, and saw a most upset looking bloke with his 1200GSWC lying on it's side at the roadside.....I was in the car in traffic but shouted across to him, and he said some numpty had reversed into whilst it was parked and knocked it over!!!
Whaaaat!!!!!??
How can anyone reverse into a bike that size?

Anyway mate, if you're on here, hope things got (or are getting) sorted for you.

not the first time for Knaresborough / Harrogate. My friends Daytona was reversed over by a delivery van in the town centre. It was a write off and the driver had to be stopped by other pedestrians..

Hardly unique to knaresborough - probably happens all over the world every day

Mental note - I shall avoid the knaresborough bike nobbler in future

One of the few advantages to living in Ireland . . . . . . We park on the pavement. The clampers don't have any powers over motorcycles and the police aren't bothered at all unless you completely block the path.

I wonder if this has anything to do with it

"Alongside Runnymede, Surrey, people in Harrogate drink alcohol to more hazardous levels than anywhere else in the UK.[27] Harrogate also has the highest concentration of drink drivers in the UK.[28] In 2010 Harrogate was named as 'the online pornography capital of the country' when a BBC documentary, The Virtual Revolution, revealed that residents from the town watched more adult material on their computers than anywhere else in the UK.[29] Despite these statistics, a March 2013 survey from the British property website Rightmove ranked Harrogate as the "happiest place" to live in the United Kingdom"

Taken from the Wikipedia harrogate page. :D

Too much of a sensible concept for the average UK Town council:thumby:

I've noticed most folk only start to look at reversing from their parking spot after they've put it in gear & most just hope for the best. Hardly anyone makes a shoulder-check when exiting from a parallel parking spot these days - is it still part of the driving test?

I once heard on TV that Sheffield was the "swingers" capital of Britain & that Doncaster had the highest number of over 60s with STI's (STD's if you grew up differently) :nenau

car twats

:blagblah It can happen anywhere. I was in Luxembourg this year and parked my gs at the side of a 50m wide entrance to the caravan site.
Some stupid bint reversed in to it whilst turning round and all I heard was a loud crash whilst having a coffee before hitting the road.
In a strange way when I seen the damage I was not too upset, side pannier lid, cylinder head protector, hand guard. When you think what could have happened it didn't seem too bad. It could have fuckked my holiday!
It's fair to say the gs is built like a tank, thank you bmw:augie
