My parents have bought a Kodak 'easyshare' camera recently - can't remember the exact model but i don't think its too important.

Anyway - the old man is saying that as soon as he plugs the cam onto its docking base - the software kicks in and puts the photos in a sort of 'protected' kodak folder - that even picassa isn't allowed into.

He also says he can't find the kodak software to remove it from add/remove programmes..

He's not happy - cos its making him use the website to 'share'the photos.

I can't figure out whats going on from here either.

Has anyone used this type of software and removed it for the above reasons ?

Any ideas what to do ?

I've got an Easyshare camera and use the software. The reason that your dad is having a problem is because of the way the software has been configured to load pictures automatically instead of manually. It will of course put such pictures into a folder called 'Kodak pictures' since this is the default software option. If he opens the s/w and selects 'preferences' he can change those bits he doesn't like for alternatives.

Nevertheless, such pictures will still be available to be edited or stored by/in some other software if required and if the Kodak s/w is reconfigured.

If necessary, the Easyshare s/w can be removed via the 'add/remove' programs in 'Control panel'.
