Hi All,
Phoned Krazy Horse in Bury St Edmunds regarding a service on the Commando and they offered to do it before the end of June to maintain warranty as they will no longer be a Norton dealer thereafter. Over the phone they could not say why, but while there I will do some digging as I am curious to know what brought this about.
I would not be suprised if they like other Norton dealers feel the new bikes are simply an Indian bike with no unique selling point like the commando. When I saw the bikes at the NEC last year I was not impressed and I suspect they won't sell very well, something a couple of other Norton sales staff have reflected in conversation. Having said that, why would TVS invest hugely in factory and development for products without extensive market research, we shall see.
Real shame, as one of the longest established Norton dealers they really seem to know the bikes inside out, even working with the brand in development projects. When they have had my bike in the technicians seem to take care and pride in their work and gave me numerous insights and tips.
However, there are two new dealers not far from them, Seastar Superikes near Norwich and also Woodcote and Copse, a Lotus car dealer at Silverstone. When I spoke to both, they were in the process of getting tooled up for the new bikes, so not sure on their expertise on the Commando going forward.
