Perhaps I'm missing something here but would'nt it have been best to ask before ordering ?

I've used the 35ltr version for a number years off and on, and I'd say that they're generally quite waterproof - not 100%, so anything valuable should be in a plastic bag if you're going long distance. When I used to wear it on my regular commute of about 45min, things would stay dry even if it pissed it down all the way.

They sell a waterproof liner so the answer must be no*, that said they are superbly made and if rucksacks are your thing then you have just bought the best motorcycle rucksack there is.

I have all the Kriega range of cubes, stash's, the waist pack and the all important manly purse.

* Though given this thing is strapped to your back you will have to be in an avalance of rain with a heavy following wind for the sack to get a soaking, but I think it's just a back-up measure.

Top bit of kit. :thumb

Straps take a bit of adjusting but once set are OK. Not 100% waterproof, but little is.

you are missing something

indeed you are missing something.
Shoppers in the U.K. have the right (U.K. law) to return anything you order over the intrnet (or mailorder for that matter) from any company (if the item is unused) for ANY reason up to 14 (?) days after receipt for full refund.

i sometimes order more than one (size / colour / brand) knowing full well i will be returning some / all of the order.

if the bag is shite i'll send it back!

blah blah .........and the all important manly purse.

Me too, one of my better buys at Beaulieu last year, although I only wear it on a belt as it's not that manly when carried like a ladies clutch bag :thumb

Good kit, well made but too small for a big bloke.........am told they wil do bigger chest straps if ordered specially

Specifically the harness has been designed with be-gloved bike riders in mind as well as the adjusters.

Personally I don't do rucksacks at all as I don't like the idea of riding with one on my back, not that one will fit me without adjustment to the straps.

But for some, especially power rangers, rucksacks is all they do and Kriega's wipe the floor with any general purpose on that score.

Not at all - it's more a case of having worked with one of their agents recently and I believe I might have paid about £25 for everything except the waist pack, bought seperately from SPC @ Beaulieu, again for £25 (instead of the regular £55), so I'm happy :thumb

You are right - but I think it's only 7 days from receipt of item.

Absolutley the best rucksack you can buy for a bike. I've got the R35 and the way that you strap yourself into it gives great peace of mind. Not totally waterproof but you'd be hard pressed to get it soaked as Judge says, easily packed and with loads of adjustment. I bought mine in the larger size (the "harness" I mean) and have no problem recommending one. I got all I needed for the Princetown weekend in it both in '03 & '04. I would agree about rucksacks on bikes normally, but with the exception of a Kriega. Superb.

R25? Worry ye not.

I've had an R25 for three and a half years and the most anything's ever got inside is slightly damp, whether on my back or cargo-netted to the pillion seat. I took it down to Wales and back in the pouring rain on the pillion seat and it was fine. I do use the roll-top stuffsack in it though, and inside that stays 100% dry. Great piece of kit and stable at speed (ahem :D ). Not so good for walking as an ordinary rucksack though because it's designed to sit differently. The heavy duty straps and big rings give you a bit of a Special-Forces-about-to-do-a-HALO-jump look  which either is or isn't an advantage.

Tip. If you do lash it to the pillion, try threading the front straps through the netting. If you take the hooks off the net and just wrap the elastic round the lashing points, there's no hooks to scratch your paint and your rucksack and net all come off and go back on again together.
