Right come on then own up, who has one...

I'm really settling into mine now... And I see the Editor of Motorcycle Sport and Leisure has bought one as his personal bike.... Also, read about a guy that's just ridden a standard one from Lands end to Nigeria in 3 months....

So, what mods have you made, what works etc...

That'll be me standing quietly at the back.

1000 miles so far.

Picked mine up from Premier Bikes on the 1st March with the extras heated grips, crash bars, alarm and center stand.
Put a SW Motech satnav mount on myself, I had to make an adapter plate to raise my 550 though as straight on the Motech it hid half the rev counter.
Also picked a tank bag up from a bod on here.

The good points, the engine, it just pulls all the way to the red line (flashing light), I don't know where the wall it's supposed to hit at 6000 revs
is but I haven't noticed any reduction in acceleration.

The front suspension felt harsh to start with but it's either bedding in or I'm getting used to it 'cos it feels OK now.
Other than a small ride height change the rear suspension feels fine.

Only one low so far, it goes in on Tuesday for a new set of clocks, part of the LCD display did a vanishing act the day after it's first service.
No dramas, the parts guy took a couple of photos for KTM and said he'd call when they got the clocks in.

So, all in all, I'm well pleased with the orange one.

Just you and me then!!

I have one just fitting bits to it, heed bars, givi spots, Ktm dump guard, Ktm heated grips, tinted screen. It's my second one I traded the first one in for a 1290SA but preferred the 1050 so I'm back on one, me and my mate collected them on Saturday done 200 miles on Sunday with ladies on the back and we love them.
I had Holan panniers on the first one and would like them again hence the reason trying to sell the KTM box's on here.

Fine bike for a faction of the cost of other bikes.

Appreciate this has been posted before... But useful for the 1050 boys...

Coming up to 800 miles now, all run in and 1st service done... as per the previous posts - I cannot find any "flat lining" above 6k - just keeps pulling - does hit the red light pretty quick though!! mines set at 8k - I've fitted the Ergo Seats as the Std one was too narrow/firm and the best bit it has a 20mm higher setting which gives me more leg room - I have also fitted a set of Pivott Pegs as I was offered them by Melch - I would not have bought them as spec- but now I've got used to them I find them more comfortable.. Suspension is settling in and I'm running 2 clicks of pre-load - have to admit it's a great bike for the £8.5k I paid for it.... you can see the quality of components - I recently rode an 1190 R and a 1290 Super duke - impressive for sure, but one is £6k more and the other nearly double! - I'm very much enjoying this 1050 and turning Orange has been a success so far! - ( I can however see an 1190R in my future........)

especially when the 1290R is announced towards end of year.

it does look like KTM are doing at least some changes to the bike after leaving it all but identical for 4 model years. of course, THEY are classics, and the new one will be rubbish :D
