Hi
Looking for bit of info, turn on the ignition key you hear something running, I do not start the bike is that normal. I presume it's the fuel pump priming it does seem to run and not switch off.
Cheers

Also the butterflies in the throttle bodies home themselves
Would that not apply to when the engine is running.
I'm only turning the key switch not firing the bike up.

It will be the fuel pump - to confirm switch on the ignition and if you then hit the kill switch the fuel pump will switch off.

Perfectly normal. Fuel pumps priming up. All bikes do it, some you hear more than others. Bikes have all sorts of emission controls these says so as well as fuel pumps priming you may have some where exhaust valves move to the closed position and as already mentioned, intake manifold butterfly valves move.
