After a year of using one bike to do everything I’ve decided that the desert x is to heavy to keep picking up when off roading on it.
So on Saturday I’m going to looking at a ktm 690 enduro r on a 13 plate. Have read most of the comments in passed post, but could anyone tell me what to look out for. Thanks

No balancer shaft which puts many off but it’s really not an issue.
Thats about it.
Akrapovic is a bonus but check its had the mapping done to match which comes as part of the kit.
If you fancy I’ve a set of Rally RAID Evo2 tanks and stickers for one of those as well as a new Aurora Rally sprocket guard protector for sale.

2013 is the best and last year before KTM put the unnecessary ABS system on, if they are serviced correctly then there isn‘t much to watch out for other than general condition, you can usually tell if they have been abused.

Some owners recommend replacing rocker arms as a service item, especially pre 2015. The bearings they run on can move out of position and cause varying degrees of mayhem.

On a 2013 bike I'd like to know if the rockers had ever been changed, how many miles ago and what year parts were used?

This, for sure. I had mine changed in what I thought was a precaution but they were about to let go. I think cost was about £250.

I also agree this is the best model, a few kg lighter than the ABS model, twin spark is smoother but the pre twin spark has more character.

If your budget will stretch to it - why not a nearly new Gas Gas ES700 (same as the later 690's but red!).

Judd racing have 2 low mileage ones in at the moment and will almost certainly do you a deal ;)

Thanks for the reply’s
I don’t really want to have another £7000 bike sat in the garage, that I’ll only probably ride once or twice a month.
First job will be to check the rockers.

Mines 2011, Mrs Berin’s is 2009. Fuelling is fine - bit more brutal than the later rather sissy ones with all their abs and balancer and twin spark but more fun if you can handle it
