KTM 950

Having owned 1 R100GS, 2 R1100GSs and 1 R1150GS, I bought a second hand KTM 950 for £6000 a few months ago. It is a much more enjoyable bike to ride than any of the preceeding models but is not for the faint-hearted.
In a tossup between the 12 and the 950 if the 12 was £4000 cheaper I'd probably get one in 12 months when the bugs are ironed out, but for now buy youself a mans bike and live;-))
I live nearby if you want a testride or a coffee.
