Does anyone know the realistic tank range of a 2007 950SM?
Cheers, Ali.

I've got a 950SE & managed 50mpg cruising at 75mph to Spain & back recently. I normally count on averaging about 10-11 miles per litre.

I've heard differing reports of the fuel tank capacity of the 950SM: 14.5 or 16 litres?

Thanks for info. :thumb2 It's hard trying to figure out a range of a bike from all the technical spec around, thats why I was hoping someone out there could tell me from first hand experience. Its a 2007 model 950SM that could be my next bike and tank range is important to me.
Cheers, Ali

Many mates have had 950 and 990SMs.

On the 950 the furl light comes on at about 90-100 miles,on the 990 at about 110-120.

Tank on 950 is 17.5 litres,on new 990 19 litres

I have a 950SM tank range is 89 to 105 miles .Test Rode a 990 SM this weekend from Pand H and did 140 miles to the orange light from full ,What a great bike!! Will chop in the 950 for the 990 as despite snatchy pick up from the FI its an awesome bike so much Grunt and easier to start!!

Hi, I have a 2007 950sm and the fuel light more often than not comes on at 130 miles thats with average riding, some hard, some town never with economy in mind:D. On a recent trip around france on the motor ways at a steady 70 mph it did 155 before fuel light:eek: mine has akros and carb mod to suit. However there is a 16 tooth front cog mod which makes the bike less jerky round town but that will drop fuel range by about 20 miles to 110 till fuel light.once the light comes on you've got about 10-15 miles on reserve.
I've had a real laugh with this bike and would highly recommend it the 990 is a bit more refined but less smiles per mile IMO the new Smr might be better when it comes out.
If you do serious milages the gel seat option is well worth it.Hope this helps as buying this bike is well worth every penny:thumb

Heh Ninga man have you tried the990? ive had a loaner for 5 days and its a peach ,yes it needs the 16 front sprocket but hell it realy goes and handles even better than my 950!!:eek:I think some akros and mapping and it will be even better (and i never thought anything could be) than the 950:thumb

This is a KTM sub forum :confused:the Orange background is a subtle clue ;):D

Agreed.
But if I had a real burning question about a KTM, then surely fluffing around in a BMW forum isn't the ultimate source of the right answer, especially whilst I'm here.:P
The KTM forum has loads of orange coloured perverts so it only makes sense, just like a perfume factory......

T.

PS. Whilst I'm here, why do most KTM riders buy a full on enduro bike to go trail riding, when a Honda C90 would do them fine........:guitarist

Long live the Husaberg......:augie

I suppose it's like most BMW Adventure riders never leave the tarmac a ST would do them fine :nenau

Thanks for all your help, especially ninjaman.
I will be looking closely at a 2007 950SM.Some dealers are selling at big discount now that the 990 is out.
Cheers everyone, Ali.:thumb2

Why do most trail riders buy dull ugly shite bikes like the DRZ 400 when they can have a full blown sexy KTM enduro weapon !!!and put race numbers on it and pretend to be an enduro champion when out trail riding roosting ramblers...:blast :hide

Oomph!
That's all I can afford.........
I don't reckon I could handle a KTM enduro weapon anyway.
