anyone want a really tidy low mileage Duke 390? Will be advertising on here at the weekend!

Perhaps if made in India they can harden the camshafts properly ???

My Indian manufactured 22 plate 390 was delivered without a single loose screw nut fastener etc. The quality of assembly was superb with lots of “sharpie” signatures and initials showing QC sign off was very thorough. Two years on other than the historical misting of the TFT everything remained tight and operational.

I don't think its anything to do with hardness. All the cams you see are blued up.
I think the oil jets are either pointing in the wrong place or shit is getting to the jet and clogging it.
There is also a screen in the underside of the head where the oil comes up from the the pump(?). if that gets clogged...

KTM say it's the width of the early finger followers, the tolerances that some followers have been made too + sometimes swarf blocking the oil jets.

I noticed the Gas Gas branded KTM (what a load of old bollox) in Moto GP is now referred to as a KTM in both commentary and on the timing sheets.
Possibly because it seems to briefly be in front of the factory bikes before crashing out, but also possibly because the Gas Gas name is for the axe?

I don't think it fooled anyone to be honest, and 3 identical bikes in 3 different colours with 3 different price tags is just stupid.

Anyone remember the Mk4 Cortina with a pinto engine? Exactly the same, they made the spray bar holes too small and they blocked up. Lost track of how many cam sets i changed when i worked at the garage. Whoever owned Moprod in brum must have made enough money to retire with the number of kits they sold.
