DON"T !!!!

Bag of shite !!!

Nearly bought one when they came out,but was lucky to have long ride on one in France last year with my mate who happens to be the local KTM dealer.

The front end is very vague, the fuel injection is very snatchy low down-it seems to run on by itself as though it had a choke left out. It'll do 30mph in third with the throtte shut !!

At speed (130ish) it feels very unstable.

Another mate actually bought one a few months ago and within 2 weeks had traded it in for the KTM 950 Supermoto.

That is a stunning bike.Because it still runs the "old" carbed 950 motor,it is so sorted and smooth.

The handling is in a different to the Superduke and it is planted at speed.

It seems that the first year gremlins are well reported for the new KTM fuel injection system, as it affects the 990 adv as well. So leave it to next year and get a test ride - all good KTM dealers have demos.

If I were you, I'd go for the big Supermoto. Just come back from a jaunt round Europe with a mate that was on one. Great bike. Goes like a train and is stuck to the road.

Had one on loan for a couple of days, fun for a while but then it gets very tedious. If you are a brisk rider expect little more than 60 Miles from a tank.

Wind is a problem, I kind of like the snatchy throttle but the one I had ran very very rough.

Wind is a problem, .

 60 miles means either you are very brisk or didn't fill the tank.Just been to scotland for some...brisk....riding with a super duke ridin mate. He never got less than 110 miles to tank but light came on at 60-65miles if thats what ya mean

As for the wind... :eek

well thnks you lot for changing my mind, seems like i will be test riding the super moto this weekend instead of the superduke. Still think it will have to be orange mind you.

Many Thanks for the info, seems the site has come up trumps again!!

Dont rush into it. there are lots left in the dealers waiting to be shifted and KTM are having some do;'s at selected dealers in July. Always smacks of a stock shift with offers when they have to do this. I know there is one at AMS mid July. ADVs 950's had a free luggage package this year when they could not shift the remaining models.

Proper supermoto is what you want.

I have to tool for you sir, I only live in telford so no to far. I have a full blown 570ktm supermoto racebike. it has a v5 so can be put on the road. 100kg and 85bhp. carbon everything, billitt bits all over, very special and cost 14k to build in 04. had to retire due to a rather nasty road bike crash and can't go racing. (wife won't let me but after a broken back and neck guess she has a point) Drop me an e-mail and ill send you some photo's in return. I'm after £3750. e-mail. [email protected]
