Lacanche Westahl Range Cooker goosed

Bit out of the left field this but you never know.
We had a new kitchen 3 years ago and decided to posh it up a bit with a Westahl range cooker. Very very expensive even second hand. It's now 5 years old and a cooker that should last a lifetime has broken. The oven door latch housing has broken. I think this means the interior oven needs removing, I suspect this won't be a quick fix.
I can only find one non Lacanche firm that can repair these cookers and their call out fee is very large and then they charge by the 15 minutes. No small talk with this chap if I do call them out!
Was just wondering is anyone else out there has a range cooker by the same company and knows of any repair firms that can work on them. I don't believe they're particularly difficult to work on but I think it's an issue of Lacanche supplying the parts to non authorised firms.
Would be amazed if UKGSER can help with this one but you never know.....

Guess you're right, it's a bugger though. I normally work on the principle of buy quality and it lasts and this normally works for me. Certainly has with my bike.
This oven looks lovely but hasn't been the best. I wouldn't recommend it. I should have bought a decent Japanesse made one where parts are readily available. Still I do like the colour, it matches my 1100GS.

What oil does it use?

No experience of this brand but generally cookers are quite simple things. I've pulled various ones apart over the years to replace latches, thermocouples and elements.

Is it a casting that's fractured or a simple plate that could be fabricated by the local metal workshop? Pictures?

Certainly not, second hand AGAs, you can hardly give them away without a dealer refurb.

Mind you, if you're buying there are real bargains to be had

For the information of Newboy.
If you buy a lacanche range you need to grease the door hinges. I bought mine second hand and was never told this and now I face replacing the hinge and roller mechanism. I can't source the parts as only appear to be available to registered agents / service providers. I'm using Joints.co.uk who are based in the midlands but cover the country. It's £250 for 2 of them for 2 hrs and then £25 per 15 mins. There will be no small talk until the clock stops! Parts are extra. About £50 each for the hinge and roller assembly. They will also service all the other functional parts of the oven in the 2hrs allotted. Booked for next week.
This breakage appears to be a result of user stupidity or if I'm being kind to myself a genuine lack of knowledge. I have never greased oven door hinges previously. Lacanche are a good cooker made of very good materials. If you do buy one I hope it lasts you we'll but may be worth keeping a note of the above repairers. I'll let you know if they are not as good as they seem having spoken to the chap today.
