Was over at Auto com in Warwick yesterday, seeking advice from GSRich who, as i mentioned earlier was v helpful.

Whilst there is just enough room under the seat on a GS for the logic box, there is no space for the Kenwood radio which is a bit of a bugger.

Obviously I could put it in my pocket, or a tank bag (dont like them much) but that seems a bit Heath Robinson, would prefer it fixed to bike. Autocom say that putting it inside an ally pannier is not the best idea because of holes for leads and interference to the signal.

What it really needs is a small hard plastic box that can be bolted to the bike IMO.

How have others overcome this issue???

Thanks in advance.

Get yourself one of these TT bags,

The radio fits in no problem and you can then easily make up a ally-plate to go behind your numberplate so that you can attach a proper ant.

Lastly, get yourself a switch on the handbars that you can use to switch the radio on and off without having to mess around.

Si, I bought an in car mobile phone cradle from Halfords and fixed it to the crossbar on my handlebars - the soft clamps work fine and for extra security I've put a large rubber band cut from a wheelbarrow innertube around it. :thumb

I'll show you at the next WM meeting at the Broom Tavern.

I bought Alan HP450 radios which are 100% waterproof. Made a bracket out of some ali and bolted that to a Ram ball.

The radio now sits on the screen frame next to the satnav. It keeps the antenna upright which gives best performance and I can adjust volume levels while riding.

The only downside is taking it off when leaving the bike - but I have to take the satnav off anyway

Ok Mike, thanks.
