I only live about 45 minutes from the Lake District and on days like this you realise how lucky you are to have this on your door step.:D:D

I agree, we are very lucky having this kind of scenery on our doorstop. It was a gorgeous day yesterday and it would have been rude not to take advantage of it, so I was out and about on my Yellow GSA, starting in the Lakes then heading towards the Dales.

I headed up to Broughton-in-Furness for breakfast, then up to Coniston, Ambleside, Kirkstone (about midday), Pooley Bridge, Hartside, Alston, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Brough, Kirkby Stephen, Sedbergh, Devil's Bridge, Bullbeck, then home.

Cracking day!

Bob

In return, if anyone wants to come and experience the exact opposite of the Lake District - the Romney Marsh, low and flat - please feel free. At its best on a wet Tuesday in February!

(Seriously, I reckon you could easily fill a day riding all the roads and lanes on the Marsh, with a seaside fish and chips and ice cream thrown in.)

Did almost the same run a few weeks ago..... parked in the same spot too !
