That's dakarDude, he was on the ride out Sun. and was then heading back to Keswick for another nights camping.

He and Melly Senior are still up there in this weather, lucky barstewards :D

Best regards Stretch :)

Andy, Jim, Stan, it was good to meet you all for the first time. What a cracking weekend we all had. Hope we all hook up again soon :thumb Jono, top bloke as always!

Saturday's route was damn fine, and would have been stunning had the weather played ball. Christ, we were like drowned rats when we rolled into the campsite! Sunday......what can I say...simply stunning again..:D

Awards:

Comic of the weekend = Rudiemoto (kept us all laughing)
The drunkest anyone in history has ever gotten = Dakardude (Could barely stand up, and then collapsed backwards on top of his tent)
The longest anyone has ever ridden stood on the pegs = Fireman (practically the whole route)
Funniest chair fail = MellySenior (boasted his camp chair only cost £3, then within minutes it suitably collapsed while he was sat on it! Beer flying everywhere...funny as feck!!:D)
Tailender of the year = Tarry the two wheeled broom wagon
Big girls blouses = Philzafuka & Doc Savage (whimped out cos they didn't want to get wet...:ymca

I agree, a great couple of days. I dont think the rain put to much of a downer on things and sunday more than made up for it. Must admit i havnt had an all day hangover like that for a while. Johno next time you do a BBQ, any chance you could forrage for a little wild garlic. the duck and wabbit was ace mate. Thanks everyone for the laughs along the way.If it aint to much trouble anychance you could email me the piccys as i only had my phone for pics which is crap. [email protected]
untill next time as they say.

Best regards Stretch:D

PS I have emailed you the one after hard knott, all the rest of mine are similar as the one's this sight.

Cheers Stretch, i am a complete waste of time when it comes to technology. By the way, standing up at 100mph on the motorway:blast crazy son of a goose.

Hiya....

What a weekend! Great company, good food and some of the best routes I've ever done.

I've attached some piccies - two or three were done on my mobile phone so the quality isn't as sharp as some of the others, but what the heck.

Oh - some good news and some bad news re. the video footage I took..

We got quite a bit - I've only got a 2GB card at the moment, my 16 hasn't turned up (thanks MemoryBits)! The footage is all of the Sunday ride in the better weather :thumb2

The downsides - the card had filled up, so I *just* missed capturing Fireman giving me the "V's" and scorching off into the distance when I pulled along side him - and it didn't capture the Hardknott Pass after all - ran out of storage :(

I did get Stretch giving the thumbs up as I got alongside him at one point. I need to suss out the best way to cut the videos up - there is 2 gigs worth at 720HD and at the moment I've no idea where to start :blast

I had also got the lens slightly twisted on the VHoldr, so the footage is at a slight angle :toungincheek Still, at least its razor sharp and we have footage! I'll suss the camera out one day and maybe RTFM.

Highlights for me of the weekend:

- The route - stevie73, it was awesome mate, well done and thanks!
- Fireman's bow wave when we all went through that little ford - his 800 caused a mammoth wave that scared the s**t out of two women walking their dogs - classic!
- Getting along side Fireman on that country lane to get some video footage of him on his 800 - I gestured to him to let him know the camera was rolling and he gave me the V's and ripped off cackling - funny as anything :D
- RudieMoto - now that is one serious lunatic :D
- The food - great job with the BBQ Rudiemoto - cheers for the rabbit and duck
- The camp site - fantastic - and they will let you have fires and offers some of the best views to wake up to - see pics
- Taking on Hardknott Pass in a group - great fun
- Arriving Saturday evening at the camp site not knowing where we were supposed to pitch - we all waited with the GS's ticking over and one of the group (tarry?) tanking off round the site between tents on his GS looking for a pitch - concerned campers lookin' on in disbelief and taking their kids in (apparently when we all arrived on the bikes, the site owner was "slightly worried" about a bunch of bikers turning up to camp we found out later)

..bit of a 'mare for me today before heading home - MellySenior and I called in at Morrisons for some food before splitting up and heading back. We ate the food, Melly went on his way and I managed to clip an empty standing supermarket trolley (good style!), whilst ahem, slowly "navigating the GS" down the walkway out from under the cycle parking area. I have never seen a trolley move so far in such a short space of time - let's just say GS panniers and trolleys do NOT mix :blast The trolley didn't have a person attached to it thank feck, but I felt a right CNUT all the same :mmmm

The route we took today was seriously good - MellySenior lead an absolute belter out through Kirkstone Pass and Ullswater and beyond, really great views and nice and sunny. I'm sure he will post pics!

Cheers all - great meeting you all and we must do it again soon! :clap:clap:clap

..In fact, when is the next one?!?!?

OK enough text, here are some pics - will sort the video ASAP and get that added... :thumb

Just an idea guys, while out this morning i found a great pub right on top of the moors with camping and great facilitys, i enquired about a bike groups and was told more than welcome, no fires but you camp 20 meters away from the beer source. if any one fancys it i could lead a good ride around the derbishire and west yorkshire areas and then have a camp over at the pub.
Ok i know the sights wont be as good as the lakes but there are some stunning roads and views to take in, i was thinking starting in saddleworth working towards buxton, over to castleton, then ove to west yorkshire via ladybower and over holme moss before making our way back to the pub.
About 100 miles in all. if there is much intrest i will start a new thread and open the invite.
Also i was thinking of the sat and sun 17th/18th july
just an idea . let me know

Dakar them friggin lanterns are bad news for me mate. they tend to set things on fire , Lets play with them when i am off duty.

Tent pitch £5 a night with showers drying room bath etc etc etc
