Following a little research on this site I fitted a Laminar lip on my 2008 GSA on Friday.

I am 6ft 2 and with the screen in it highest position its totally resolved the very bad noise I was experiencing in the helmet and smoothed the airflow as a bonus.

Great product I highly recommend it.

Glad it helped, however make sure you duck as it flies off at 80mph or it will ruin your lid like mine did, bought from ebay, the guy said to me that he would replace it if I left positive feedback, which like a mug I did, never heard from him again, heroblobs I think. :blast:blast

Mine is great.

Although it fell off, luckily at a set of traffic lights:nenau

It's now attached with 4 stainless steel M4 bolts with dome headed nuts- loctited on...

The velcro it comes with is a bad idea on an otherwise excellent bit of kit.

IMHO:augie

The 3M Duolock which it comes with is a bit more robust than Velcro. In the three and a bit it's been on my screen, mine's never even threatened to move, even at speeds up to 120 mph.

Mine was also supplied with nylon bolts and nuts, for a more permanent fit.

Mine has been fitted now for 2000 miles on my GSA 08 and I have had no problems with the 3m Dueolock. In fact when I first put it on and rode for a few hundred miles I was unhappy as I had placed it to high and the top of the lip was right in my eye line. Any way it arrived with spare Dueolack so I set about removing the lip and they were so strong to get apart I needed to use a flat blade screwdriver in order to prise them apart.

Mine fell off while sitting at a set of lights- not long after blatting down the motorway at speed.
The poncy velcro stuff didn't let go- the wee tabs came off the screen leaving lovely clean circles on the bikes screen.
I had been checking it was secure almost every day since I didn't really trust a stuck on screen but it never ,ever looked like it was even thinking of coming loose then as I reached down to check the screen adjusters were tight ( I thought the screen was looking a bit low) it just popped off and landed on the road. I must have touched it with my arm:nenau

Still, it works- and works well.

'Speshly now the fecker is bolted on:thumb2

I asked for nylon bolts for mine as I had no experience with the 3M.

Out of interest yesterday I attempted to part the Duolock fixings and one sticky pad just came away from the screen. Not very secure at all.

Its now on with the nylon bolts.

my laminar lip wasn't on for long, but it seemed to me to be quite difficult to get all 4 pads stuck to the bmw screen square. very easy to end up with a couple of pads only half stuck down, and the tension in the lip attempting to peel them off.

stuck on square they look pretty secure, but it took me a secon set of pads to achieve a fitting i was happy with. then i took it off 'cos the lip was fecking with my vision :blast

Laminar lip

Ive attempted to remove mine from the 3m thingys to give it a proper clean,(as instructed ) all that happens is the velcro peels of the screen, cookie is correct, its difficult to get the thing on square so that all of the velcro is stuck, might have to resort to nuts and bolts, as for me the lip does work.

removal:

first i followed the manufacturers advice about separating the pads with a knife. this works, but bends the hooks in the pads, so they won't reattach. i needed new pads :blast

piece of wood (20 x 10 x 300ish), wrapped in an old tee shirt. wedged between screen and lip, then lever lip off. works a treat :)

ps. new pads are only $7 inc. postage, direct from laminar. they come in a few days too :)

couldn't find a source in the uk.

Love the Lip! Works great for me!!!
But the 'sticky attachments suck loud.....
always coming off the wind shield, and when cleaning the windshield...off fell the Lip...

I found this stuff at the hardware Store for like $5.00.

3M works for me

Covered 6K on the 3M with no movement at speeds up to 120mph

You just need to stick it together at the right temperature:nenau
