Thinking of making the trip between now and the 4th of March, excluding 16th-23rd February.

Avoiding motorways and looking for the nicest roads, novices and smaller bikes welcome, I fill both categories myself having just scraped my licence in before the law changed and being mounted on a DR350.

Camping or B&Bs, see how the weather fares.

Get in touch! :beerjug:

As well as avoiding motorways..............

Avoid John O Groats - it's a shitehole. :rob

Get yourself to Glasgow (ish) and head over to Inveraray. From there, head up the west coast all the way to Ullapool.

From Ullapool - head around the north coast, but head south before you get to Thurso.

On the way south again - come down via Braemar and Blairgowrie..........

Sorted :thumb2

Can I suggest part of the route you may like to consider,,,,,

Heading North on the A6, just after Milnthorpe.
Hang a left onto the A590 for about 1 mile, then right onto A5074
Passing Bowness and Windermere towards Ambleside.

At Ambleside, hang left onto A593 and about 3 miles out, turn right onto Hardknott Pass. Then Wrynose pass to Eskdale.

Wonderful just amazing scenery, from Ambleside, to Ulpha and onto Eskdale, be amazed.

A lovely little run :)

I'd be tempted to spend a few quid sorting the seat out and perhaps some heated grips, that's along way on a DR350 in winter.

And don't go with anybody who's to tight to get a decent tyre fitted:augie

Good luck It will certainly be an adventure:thumb2
