Lane (Legal or not)

Best place to start checking the legality is the Gloucestershire Definitive map which is available here. Part of your route is a Restricted Byway and a Bridlepath. :thumb2

From that info it appears not and has been has been downgraded post NERC:blast

Definitive map is key:thumb2

Not always easy though, some offroad routes are UCR's (unclassified county roads) and these are not on the on-line maps

Thanks for the link thats now in my favourites.

Went and had a look at the lane and saw a dead end sign at either end so went and had a play in the quarry instead.

UCRs are not off road routes......

UCRs are not off road routes......

What do you mean? That they're not off-road? Or that it's not legal to ride a motorcycle on them?

UCRs are roads, roads that are legal to use a motorcycle on.
Riding on anything that is a road, so 'off road', apart from with the landowners permission is illegal, with criminal penalties now.
So, we, as trail riders, should not be using the phrase 'off road' when describing use of unsealed roads.
Petit I know...... but Johnnyboxer should know better!:P
