LAP TOP INTERNET SLOWED RIGHT DOWN

Hi

I hope that somebody can help me, over the last week my laptop internet has slowed right down,
when I click on a thread and it has pictures it takes ages,in the bottom left hand corner it sez "down loading picture" or "waiting (insert whatever website you are on here)".

I have done a disk defragmenter and disk clean up as all I know what to do.

any help welcome

Have you also done a chkdsk to check for damaged parts of the disk?

Does your other machine(s) run fine on the same connection?
 
Do you run google earth or any games such as sims? These slow down everything.

Have you done a virus check? You can use avg free or bullguard for a 30 day free trial. Amaxing what they find.:rolleyes:

What about any adaware checks - these little ad thingys slow down good and proper.

Someone much more computer savvy will be along shortly :D

I have AVG 8.5 anti virus and it sez everythings ok.

How do I do a check disc?

Its the only machine on the connection.
 
Have you tried simply turning the router off for 30seconds or so and letting it reconnect that sometimes does the trick:thumb2
 
Simple things first......

Is your computer only slow on the Net or is it slow doing offline things too ?
 
How is the computer connect to the internet?
 
Any chance of a quick test with the laptop connected by cable to the router?
