Laptop can see the wireless network but won't connect?

Sister has just bought a new samsung laptop.
It can see my wireless network and says its connected but there's no internet connection at all

I've done the troubleshoot bit and it says that the DNS server isn't responding.

Anyone have any advice please?

Look at the IP configuration in a machine that can connect to the wireless network and put the same settings in (except the IP address if it's not automatic, use a different last part of the address) on the new laptop.

Usually the DNS setting will be the local router address.

A simple often fix is reboot the router and once rebooted (un plugged switched on again) also re set wi fi settings on your lap top to locate-refresh your router / internet provider and in put the wireless key code again it works sometimes

I unticked the auto dns box a few times and now seems to be working...until next time
