Has anybody experience of having a laser jammer fitted to their motorcycle. I have recently been sent dertails in the post of a device which is sold as a parking sensor, but actually doubles up as a laser jammer to stop even the most powerfull laser guns getting a lock on to the vehicle. I hasten to add that I ride very responsibly, and consider safety above all else, but the Police Revenue department are using increasingly devious and bizarre tactics to increase their income stream. Perhaps they are being hit by the credit crunch?

I know they are popular in the states, but i don't think they're available over here :nenau

I know if your caught with one working here, you'll get nicked for attempting to pervert the course of justice, which carries a far longer prison sentence then any speeding offence.
Not sure how they'd find out you had one though unless their laser guns know and tell them something is being used to stop it get a reading.

Parking sensor for a bike :blast

Heard that remote door opening lasers can have the same effect, which if you don't have the other bit on the garage door, might take more than a little persuasion to convince an unhappy traffic cop why his radar isn't working.

If you were targeted by a laser speed camera and the Laser Sensor/Jammer went off I doubt you would have much time to reduce your speed, and if it jammed the signal then you might well get waved in for a chat/inspection:rolleyes:

I had one on a Lotus Elise years ago and it only ever went off once and I was actually traveling at round about the speed limit anyway. It was on a 'B' road which was/is popular with bikers/sports cars.

These laser units are availiable in the UK for a very reasonable cost (£175), and alert you to the use of a laser gun so you can adjust your speed. I would be curious to discover the consequences of using one, although they are very difficult to spot apparently. The sensor only measures 35mmx20mm and can be mounted under the oil cooler. I just wondered if anyone had experience of using one?

There are plenty of laser devices that act as laser jammers as a side effect by design or accident, as well as parking sensors there are garage door openers and gate openers. If you are going to go down that road on a bike the door/gate opener is the best route but be aware that if you do get pulled as result of a laser gun NOT reading your speed your home address will likely be visited and if you don't have a door/gate that is operated by your device you will be prosecuted, you could try a parking sensor on a bike but it's a dead cert you'll get some sort of grief and most probably be prosecuted
.
On a car at this time it is legal to have a laser parking sensor even if a side effect is it jams a laser gun. The best of the bunch is reckoned to be the Laser PRO-PARK:thumb2

Thanks for the info

Thanks Dickieboy- best that I scrap that idea then- I don't want to get on the wrong side of Mr. Plod do I?:thumb

AFAIK, Laser Star is a cheap Chinese copy of the original Laser Pro Park. Although the control unit, wiring and laser heads look identical to the Pro Park, the heads are not as powerful and the control unit uses the older version 7 software that cannot be updated for new guns, unlike the Pro Park. Some of the advertising also refer to it as the Snooper Laser Star  although this is not a Snooper product.

Laser Pro Park does work,:thumb especially when tested using such devices as a Marksman LTi 20-20, as used in most scamera vans.

just a couple of points

You would have to be stupid enough to say that it was on your bike in order to avoid prosecution.....

if they were to come around your house, they would have to prove that you were not in the process of fitting one or the old owner had it fitted for their house...... to check your house would require either a warrant or other authority

the LTi20-20 is quite an old gun now... a lot of forces have updated to various others eg SL700

You would have to be unlucky enough to get a bobby who knows what they are looking at. Most are told in the training on the lasers that bikes are hard to hit, so dont even try.. especially in my area about 80% of the traffic cops are also bikers (and they seem to never be able to get the laser quite on the bike......strange that:nenau )

Where did you get that info from as its just bashing from kmph/laser pro park/laser protector ltd(now dissolved).
The Laser Star supports all the latest laser guns including the SCS102/Traffipatrol XR and LTI tru-speed.
Laser pro park does not support any of those guns.
see www.laserjammertests.com for more info on Laser pro park:clap

FWIW most speed detection equipment such as the Ultralyte which is one of the more popular speed guns will show a "jam" code if it encounters any of these laser jammers. :aidan
