Weather check & a green light to go for Sunday/Monday past.
Meet up at Lurgan and west bound to Tyrone.
1st stop was to pay respects to a WW2 crash site near Gortin
A strange twist of fate that the pilot's home was only about 15 miles from the crash site.
Then headed off to Gortin village intending to stop in a cafe we know for lunch. Closed for renovations , so headed to the Glenpark Estate
They had a Sunday carvery, so got the works
Full bellies & done more miles to the 1st of two wild camp sites I had in mind
Gortin Plumbridge, B48 towards Donemana, then some single tracks back down to the Plumbridge/Draperstown Rd & onto the 1st possible site
Turned out to be too boggy & damp, so onto the 2nd one.
Packed up and on the road for 9am
Some more roads through the Sperrins
Then onward to Claudy and Limavady. Up over the Bishops Rd
then onward to Portstewart for a stop
Followed the coast road south to Ballycastle (Ice cream stop) then over the Torr Head
Continued along the coast to Whitehead where we went our separate ways
Roughly 350 miles over the two days.
